SEASON 1 COMPLETE

21 Guests and a Whole LoAD of LESSONS!

We did it! The first season of The Creative Nowhere Land Podcast is complete! And it feels like a good time just to take a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the journey so far. We’ve hit some major milestones in a very short time. We were nominated for an award! We’ve reached thousands of listeners across 43 countries. And we’ve learnt a lot of lessons, and I’m incredibly grateful to not only the interesting and inspiring guests. But also to you, for listening and supporting the whole time. We’ve started to build something that feels like more than just a podcast. We’ve started to grow a community. I hope that it’s been useful and inspiring to you on whatever journey that you’re on, and that maybe you don’t feel quite so alone in whatever you’re building, making, dreaming of, or figuring out.

21 INCREDIBLE GUESTS!

21 USEFUL TAKEAWAYS!

After 21 incredible episodes with 21 amazing guests, from artists and athletes to entrepreneurs and educators, there have been so many lessons that I’ve taken away. Almost too many, but I went back and listened to every episode ( and yes, hearing my own voice still makes me cringe), and I pulled out some of the key insights that stayed with me. Now yours might be completely different, and this is just a list of one takeaway from each guest. Obviously, within long-form conversations, I hope there are lots more than just these, but that would be a very long blog post.

Here are just a few of the takeaways:

  • We only get one shot at life, so devote your life to the pursuit of what you love! - Mark Wilkinson, Artist. Ep10

  • Your comfort zones will kill you. Say yes and learn how. Don't pull away from the things that could change your narrative or your life because of fear! -Lachlan Monaghan, Male Principal Lead, Birmingham Royal Ballet. Ep11

  • Talk to yourself as you would to a friend! - Becky Weir, Midland Therapy Group. Ep12

  • There's an incredible power that art and creativity have to inspire and empower people! - Matt Johnson, Commercial Artist. Ep13

CNL PODCAST - SEASON 1

Across these 21 conversations, we’ve talked about creativity, imposter syndrome, resilience, purpose, and why the hardest part is often just starting. We’ve unpacked what it means to keep going when the doubts creep in, and, for me, how listening, really listening, can be one of the most creative acts of all. As I said, there are so many lessons in each of the podcast episodes, and the best way for you to learn from our amazing guests is to listen to the podcast episodes in full. Check out the podcast on your platform of choice…

thank you!

Creating the podcast and building the Creative Nowhere Land brand has taught me so much. About trusting the process. About pushing through self-doubt and starting anyway, even when it’s scary. And yes, it has been scary, putting myself out there and getting in front of the camera. Sometimes it still feels awkward and a little bit ‘cringe’.

But more than anything, it’s reminded me that nothing creative happens in isolation. So, thank you. To all of our inspiring guests so far, to you, the listeners, and everyone who’s been part of supporting and building this growing CNL community, I’m endlessly grateful. Whether you’ve been with us since episode one or you’re just finding your way here now, know this: none of this works without you.

What’s next?

Well, Season Two of The Creative Nowhere Land Podcast is already in the works. We are moving into a new studio space, and we are investing to bring you more value moving forward, so I can’t wait to share what’s coming next. But for now, I hope you’ll take a moment to pause. Maybe revisit a favourite episode. Maybe reflect on your own creative path. And maybe even share what you’ve learned along the way with someone else.

Wherever you are in your journey—just starting, a little stuck, or deep in the mess of making, just remember, you’ve got this, and we will try and support you as much as we can by bringing you more interesting and inspiring guests who’ve been where you are and are making it work. Designing the life they want!
